The Henricus Hoeve in the Netherlands was built in 1956 by the Hoefnagel family. Since then it has been a mixed herd of cows and pigs. In 1999, the farm was renamed a care farm with a day care facility for the elderly and people with a non-congenital brain defect. The farm has been completely organic since 2003.
Today, cows and pigs are still present, as well as small numbers of sheep and chickens. All animals are kept in a natural way, as much as possible in the meadow and in winter in spacious, animal-friendly stables. There is a farm shop where the obtained products are sold. People with disabilities have been active on the farm for several years. Thanks to them, the many projects can be realized and Henricus Hoeve is the unique care farm that it is.
