HARi&CO was founded by two agricultural engineers with the mission to provide a healthy, highly nutritive and good-for-the-environment range of products from locally grown vegetables. The company produces organic plant-based meat alternatives, primarily using beans and pulses, which are sold to the food service and retail sectors. HARi&CO carefully selects beans and pulses which both enrich the soil with nitrogen and minerals and require very little water for production (up to 10 times less compared to meat products). The product range consists of burgers, balls and nuggets. With its mission to promote local, organic and legume rich meals, HARi&CO is a trusted partner of many school canteens in providing nutritious meals to children. Triodos Food Transition Europe Fund invested in HARi&CO in 2019 to support the company in its growth ambitions.
