In Amsterdam, a former tram depot (‘tramremise’ in Dutch) has been converted into a center for media, fashion and craft. André van Stigt is the face of De Hallen as an entrepreneur and as an architect. But he is not alone. All entrepreneurs together form a social coalition. The industrial national monument is a beautiful building. And the Bellamyplein area has turned into an area where people like to be. This while it was previously a neighborhood in decline with a lot of unemployment. De Hallen have given the district a huge 'upgrade'. As a local resident or visitor, De Hallen has a lot to offer. Such as a hotel, cinema, eateries, nursery, art library and bicycle workshop.
