Renault

Responsible minerals sourcing initiative

We have engaged with Renault about their use and sourcing of conflict minerals since 2012.

In December 2017, the company informed us that it had joined the Responsible Raw Material Initiative (RMI), an initiative developed by the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA, previously known as EICC) to mitigate the social and environmental impact of raw material production in the mining sector.

The RBA has long-established experience in developing supply chain due diligence tools. It was also the driving force behind the Conflict Free Smelter Initiative.

Renault also aims to ensure responsible sourcing of minerals by performing due diligence in cooperation with its suppliers, based on the OECD Guidelines for multinational enterprises. We will to continue our dialogue to enhance Renault’s responsible sourcing practices further.
