Vandebron is a market place where Dutch households can purchase renewable energy directly from a producer, such as a farmer with a windmill or solar panels, without the intervention of a traditional energy company.
Vandebron, founded in 2013 by young entrepreneurs Matthijs Guichelaar, Remco Wilcke en Aart van Veller, offers a highly transparent energy service. Consumers can choose their producer from the Vandebron platform so they know where their money goes and where their energy comes from. Producers, on the other hand, can sell their energy directly to the consumer and determine their own price. As a result, this is the first business model that makes the generation of sustainable energy more profitable.
