Triodos Investment Management has been awarded the prestigious Impact Award at the Impact Investment Academy held on November 19th, 2019 in London. Triodos IM came out on top in the Asset Manager category, celebrating the firm’s long-time commitment to financing positive social and environmental impact across asset classes. The Impact Investment Academy, which granted the award, is hosted by Worthstone, a leading expert in the UK retail impact investment sector.

The judges said that “Triodos demonstrates a long-term commitment to impact investment having been a participant for more than 30 years. Participation in stakeholder initiatives and advocacy as well as being one of the first B Corps in their country and a signatory to the UN PRI demonstrated broader commitment in terms of not only how they invest but how they operate as a business.”

Judges’ comments continued: “It was good to see Triodos offer impact solutions to investors in both listed and private markets. The Triodos impact report covers their investment activities and provides content on various levels, in addition to data they also contextualise the reporting with stories and videos which are engaging."

On winning the award, Jacco Minnaar Chair of the Management Board of Triodos IM said: “We are honoured to be awarded the Impact Award in an increasingly competitive environment. It is encouraging to see a growing number of players in the market following suit and starting to invest more and more with positive impact to address the many global challenges we are faced with today. Triodos IM plans to continue innovating and building new solutions that enable investors of all types to access the high-impact projects and companies that play an important role in solving these.”

“We strongly believe there is an enormous potential for retail investors to use their money for good. As such, the added value that the Impact Investment Academy brings to the UK retail investment market is of the utmost value”, Jacco Minnaar continues.

Gavin Francis, Founder and Director of Worthstone: “The Impact Awards celebrate best practice in the retail impact investment sector – we want to champion advisory firms and asset managers who are leading the market in aligning retail investment strategies to achieve positive social and financial outcomes. We want to recognise and celebrate the achievements of exemplars in the area of impact investing and by showcasing best practice, inspire the rest of the sector with what can be achieved when impact is embraced as a valued metric within investment markets."
