Triodos Investment Management has appointed Marie Heydenreich as Fund Manager of Hivos-Triodos Fonds as per 1 June 2026.
With 13 years of experience in the impact investing sector, Marie brings deep expertise in investment fund management and SME finance. Before joining Triodos IM, she was involved in two access-to-energy initiatives in Africa managed by Triple Jump, based out of Nairobi and Amsterdam. Previously, she co-managed a EUR 400M fund of funds mandate focused on inclusive businesses in frontier markets. Her strong network and hands-on experience make her a great fit for the fund’s mission. Marie holds an MSc in Finance in Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London and a BSc in International Economics from the University of Tübingen.

Hivos-Triodos Fonds was launched in 1994 as a public-private partnership between the Dutch development organisation Hivos and Triodos Bank.As a blended finance instrument, Hivos-Triodos Fonds aims to address climate change and its consequences, improve livelihoods and reduce inequality for low-income communities and vulnerable groups, especially women and youth. By stimulating the growth of innovative businesses in renewable energy and sustainable agriculture, Hivos-Triodos Fonds spurs the transition to a green and inclusive economy. In 2025, Hivos-Triodos Fonds secured a EUR 30 million investment from FMO and OeEB to accelerate sustainable social and economic development in developing countries, bringing the current assets under management to EUR 95 million.
