Investment rationale
Acuity generates a large part of its revenue from LED-based products. These LED-based lighting solutions help consumers and businesses to conserve energy because LED is a more energy efficient solution than conventional lighting. To illustrate this, Acuity has set a target to enable the avoidance of 100 million tonnes of CO2 emissions by 2030 through the replacement of lighting products in existing buildings with Acuity's energy-efficient products and services. Furthermore, Acuity also sells intelligent lighting controllers and sensors, to enable smart use of electricity and thus contributing to energy savings. We consider LED an innovation that contributes to more efficient use of resources, which is needed for the transition to a more sustainable society.
