Henk and Joanne van Veldhuizen have an organic dairy farm and care farm in Wapse, the Netherlands. It is a family business, which they took over from Henk's parents.
They produce organically on the farm. This means that the cows are out in the pasture when conditions permit. They also produce their own feed as much as possible, so that the biological cycle remains closed. No fertilizers and crop protection agents are used. The use of medicines in cows and calves is limited. The milk is supplied to Rouveen Kaasspecialiteiten, which produces a large number of types of cheese.
On the care farm 'de Veldhof', the family offers sheltered living as well as daytime activities. It is a small-scale care farm, with room for two people.
