Investment rationale

Severn Trent issued this sustainability bond to finance investments that contribute to a sustainable and affordable water cycle, which is key for healthy ecosystems and a sustainable society. The green and social assets and expenditures financed by the sustainability bond restore biodiversity, reduce pollution and leakage, enhance renewable energy generation and support customers in financial difficulty. This is especially important in the context of the state of the UK water infrastructure, which is relatively old and has among the highest leakage rates in Europe. As improving the sustainable water cycle is the main objective of the sustainability bond, this fits well with our Renewable Resources theme.
