Where pumps were still made by Stork at the beginning of the last century, the specialist trainers for construction have recently been housed in the Techniekhuis Twente, the Netherlands. This industrial monument is the place where carpenters, masons, tilers, painters, fitters and construction executives are trained. The Bouwschool Twente, Schildervakopleiding Hengelo, Installatiewerk IW and the ROC of Twente have recently started working together intensively. It is the place in Twente where starting construction professionals, lateral entrants, job changers, job seekers and status holders can follow training to become the best in their field. The unique joining of forces of the ROC with the vocational trainers in the Techniekhuis is the guarantee for a successful future in construction. The monumental accommodation of the vocational trainers is being transformed into a sustainable training house for the Twente business community through a major renovation.
