Windpark Zeeland is a join venture between Triodos Energy Transition Europe Fund and project developer E-Connection. This project consists of three wind farms: Wind farm Vlissingen, Kapelle Schore and Jacobahaven. Windfarms Vlissingen and Kapelle have been operational since 1991 and operate seven V29 and two V27 Vestas wind turbines respectively. Windfarm Jacobahaven is located at the southern end of the Oosterschelde surge barrier in the municipality of Noord-Beveland. While having been located there since 2006, it is part of a big optimalisation project of project developer E-Connection, the province of Zeeland and the municipalities of Veerle, Rijkswaterstaat and several nature preservation organisations with the aim to leverage the unique combination of wind-energy generation, nature, recreation and surge barrier.
