In March 2017, Triodos announced its intention to bring the asset management activities of its Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) platform in-house, a process which has now been finalised. This transition allows Triodos IM to more holistically integrate the sustainability and financial analysis of public equities and bonds, and to strengthen its engagement position with companies.
The first step in this transition was made on 1 January 2018, when the asset management of the discretionary portfolios of Triodos Bank Private Banking Netherlands, which was previously done by Triodos MeesPierson, migrated into the Triodos IM SRI platform. This transfer was received well by the clients of Triodos Bank Private Banking Netherlands. The transition process is now finalising with taking in the asset management of the four Triodos SRI funds as per 1 April 2018, which was previously outsourced to Delta Lloyd Asset Management.
As part of this transition Triodos IM is further developing its SRI proposition by taking an integrated investment approach based on seven sustainable transition themes. The integrated strategy allows for further development based on positive selection, focusing investment activity on companies that contribute directly to the transition towards a sustainable society. Combined with active stewardship and advocacy, Triodos IM believes it is now possible to further drive positive change through its participation in the public capital markets.
